Privacy policy.
Search & Counsel takes its responsibilities under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect, what we do with it, who else handles it, and the rights you have over it.
Effective 3 May 2026
1. Operator
Search & Counsel is a trading style of Feltan Associates Pte Ltd (UEN 202225620G), a private limited company incorporated in Singapore and licensed by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower as an employment agency under EA Licence 23S1672. Our registered office is 1 Raffles Place, #02-01 One Raffles Place Mall, Singapore 048616.
References to “Search & Counsel”, “we”, “our” or “us” mean Feltan Associates Pte Ltd acting under the Search & Counsel and Chartered Partners Search & Counsel brands. Feltan Associates Pte Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and through our retained executive search work, except where this policy expressly states otherwise.
2. Personal data we collect
2.1 Information you give us
You may provide personal data to us when you:
- Submit an enquiry through our contact, request-a-search or speak-to-a-specialist forms (your name, employer, role, contact details, and the content of your message).
- Upload a CV through the optional CV submission form on this website (your name, contact details, the document itself, and any information disclosed in it).
- Accept an invitation to our Client Zone (your name, work email, employer, and authentication credentials managed by our identity provider).
- Correspond with us by email, telephone or in person during a mandate (any information you choose to share).
2.2 Information we collect about you
During the course of a retained search we may collect publicly available information about you from professional sources (for example, regulatory registers, professional directories, published conference and tribunal records, and your own published profiles). We may also receive references and informal feedback from peers and former colleagues, with appropriate care, and only in connection with a specific mandate.
2.3 Information collected automatically
Our website sets only strictly necessary cookies required to operate authenticated areas. We do not run third-party advertising networks or default web analytics on this site. See our cookie policy for full detail.
3. Where Manatal sits in the picture
Candidate registration, profile creation, login and applications to Search & Counsel opportunities take place on our applicant tracking system, hosted by Manatal Pte Ltd at searchandcounsel.careers-page.com. That portal is operated under Manatal's own platform and is governed by Manatal's privacy notice in addition to ours. We have a data processing agreement in place with Manatal under which Manatal acts as our processor for candidate-side personal data.
When you apply to a Search & Counsel opportunity through Manatal, your application data is collected directly by Manatal on our behalf. We then access that data through the Manatal platform to conduct the search. No candidate registration form on this website forwards personal data into our own systems.
4. How we use personal data
We use personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected and for closely related purposes, including to:
- Respond to enquiries and provide information you have requested.
- Conduct retained executive search work, including identifying, assessing, approaching and introducing candidates to clients on a confidential basis.
- Manage candidate relationships, including keeping practitioners informed about relevant future opportunities, where they have indicated they would welcome being contacted.
- Operate, secure and improve the Client Zone and the website.
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including those arising under the Employment Agencies Act and the PDPA.
- Protect our legitimate business interests, including the prevention of fraud, the enforcement of our terms, and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Where the GDPR applies to our processing, our lawful bases are: your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures at your request, our compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating a regulated executive search business.
5. Who we share personal data with
We share personal data only where it is necessary to do so. The principal categories of recipient are:
- Clients of Search & Counsel, but only with the candidate's express consent in each instance, and only the information that is relevant to the mandate.
- Service providers acting as our processors, including Manatal Pte Ltd (applicant tracking), Vercel Inc. (website hosting), Supabase Inc. (database hosting, with our primary instance in Singapore), and Resend, Inc. (transactional email delivery). Each is bound by a written agreement requiring appropriate safeguards.
- Regulators, law enforcement or other authorities, where we are required by law to disclose information.
- Professional advisors, including auditors and lawyers, where reasonably required.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third-party advertising networks.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers process personal data in jurisdictions outside Singapore (for example, the United States and the European Economic Area). Where personal data leaves Singapore, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient is bound to a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, including by reliance on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
7. How long we keep personal data
We retain personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law:
- Enquiry and mandate records: for the life of any related mandate and for a further period of seven years thereafter for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Candidate records held in Manatal: in line with our retention policy in the platform, subject to periodic review, and to deletion or anonymisation on request where there is no overriding legal or business reason to retain them.
- Marketing and relationship correspondence: until you withdraw your consent or otherwise ask to be removed.
- Site and security logs: kept only for so long as is needed for security and operational purposes.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Withdraw any consent you have given us (which will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal).
- Object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing.
- Request that we delete personal data where there is no overriding legal or business reason to retain it.
- Lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore, or with your local data protection authority if the GDPR applies to your situation.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the address below. We will respond within thirty days, or sooner where the law requires.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. No system is impenetrable; we will tell you, and the appropriate authorities, in the event of a notifiable data breach as required by law.
10. Children
This website is intended for senior professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of eighteen. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will delete the data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, and its effective date, will always appear on this page.
12. How to contact us
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. Article 37 of the GDPR does not require us to, given the scale and nature of our processing. The data protection contact for Feltan Associates Pte Ltd is the managing director, reachable at ama@searchandcounsel.com or by post at the registered office address shown below.
